I have written several posts about how amazing and talented I think Kid Cudi is! He is one of hip hops most exciting acts right now and just may help revive this genre of music with his forthcoming album entitled The Man on the Moon: End of Day out September 15th.
Anyway this song is amazing and you must check it now - it is a slower more somber song but it is really good. If you like it go here for the FREE DOWNLOAD!! Also check out my prior posts for a bunch of other freebies from him!

Summer is officially over so I thought it only appropriate to post some footage of one of my favorite concerts this summer.
Take a look at MGMT’s performance of “Kids” at Prospect Park in Brooklyn this past August. Enjoy!!=)

So I was a bit skeptical when I heard Scarlett Johansson was teaming up with Peter Yorn on an album - ya know the whole actress turns singer thing seems a bit cliche and old these days. However I must say from what I heard of the collabo so far is pretty damn good!
The two have teamed up to create an album entitled “The Break Up” and it is original and fresh sounding. Scarlett’s vocals aren’t amazing but they are pretty good and she has this old school tone which perfectly compliments Yorn’s vocals. I must say I actually really dig this whole album which you can stream in its entirety here. Enjoy!
Not sure when the album is out but the single “Relator” is up on iTunes and it is one of my favorite tracks!

You may have seen some posts I did on Mr. Hudson before. Well I had the chance to see Mr. Hudson perform live about a month ago in NYC. He played some songs off his upcoming album “Straight No Chaser” out October 19th.
Here is some footage off his performance of Supernova - one of my fav’s of his. Check it….don’t mind the bass in some parts…sorry I was directly over it!!

So I had heard of The Very Best coincidentally enough right after I got back from my South Africa trip. Why is that a coincidence you ask - well Esau Mwamwaya of The Very Best is actually from Africa and when I came across them I was going to post his song “Warm Heart of Africa” along with a dope pic of one of the many animal encounters I came across while on Safari there…but to spare you all from the cheesiness of posting a personal pic I opted out of doing so even though the song itself is amazing!
Anyway my next favorite song of theirs is “Rain Dance” featuring M.I.A. and the beats on this track as with anything M.I.A. related are sick!
The Very Best has a new album out also entitled “Warm Heart of Africa” that just dropped on August 25th and is up on iTunes.
Check out Raindance below and if you like what you hear go visit Fader for a FREE DOWNLOAD of the song.

So when doing a google search on this band the first thing that comes up naturally is a site for Rubik’s cube…cool site but not what I was looking for. Ok there now..the second search hit is the site for the most infu*cking credible new find my web browsing fingers have stumbled upon - Rubik!
Rubik is a Finnish (love that word) band who last released an album entitled “Bad Conscience Patrol” in 2007. In such a short time since then the band had been compared to Animal Collective and TV on the Radio - not too bad. They are back with a new album set to drop in the states September 15th entitled “Dada Bandits”.
Their music is best described as experimental indie and is some of the most original sounds I have heard from a band of late.
Anyway this album sounds incredible and will be out this September. To hold you over for now though, check out two songs that are my fav’s. Also Wasteland is available here as a FREE DOWNLOAD on RCRD LBL. Enjoy!!=)
Oh also for those of you that are in NYC - they are playing October 10th at Pianos in the LES which happens to be one of my favorite bars. Check em out there - nothing better than a good beer and band!
